Great place to eat. The users who gave this a low rating are high-maintenance. I'd highly recommend Osakas.

Mediocre at best. Our chef was rude. He made a take out order with our order. The take out got much bigger portions and my mother was told she had to ask for white meat chicken. No where in there menu does it say to specify. And when the woman asked my mom if she wanted something else the chef yelled at her in their language. Everything was cooked together. The burnt pieces got scraped into the rest of the food. He didn't read our order and completely negated to make my shrimp. The sushi was warm and flavorless. I'm not picky by any means but I know good Japanese food and sushi... This definitely was NOT it! Will not be returning!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who thinks this is good food needs to broaden their horizons!

My first time eating Japanese food, and it was really good. The chef cooks the food in front of you, I had sliced steak and it was good. It comes with fried rice, a basic salad and onion soup. Nice vibe wasn't busy and pretty good service. I hear the place does get packed on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Okay so from the outside I wasn't sure if I wanted to go into this establishment. Being the brave person I am I decided I would go for it! The restaurant has 4 Hibachi cooking tables that I could see (seating 8 each). I was seated immediately, and it looked like the other people at the table may have been there a while, but I was served with my soup and salad immediately. I would say that the food was comparable to most the japanese steak houses around (i.e. Kobe, etc) but the prices were reasonable ($16.95 for Filet and Shrimp). The portion sizes were nice, service was okay. I was surprised though that the chef didn't do any special tricks (i.e. the flaming volcano, tossing the shrimp tails, etc).

I am a huge fan of teppanyaki houses, but NOT this one. My issues: The chef said barely a word and did no entertaining tricks. Everything was cooked at the same time, which concerns me about cross-contamination with raw chicken and rice being cooked next to one another. The rice that stuck and burnt to the grill was scraped off, some of which was scraped into my chicken. It tasted awful. The food was bland. I got two cups of a nasty white sauce that tasted like mayonnaise, but no brown sauce that is usually served. The chef accidentally put vegetables on a guest's plate that requested none. He asked the guest if he wanted to keep the vegetables, he said that he could give them to someone else, and the chef then demanded "No, you keep!". Whaaaat? There were 4 takeout boxes laid out and the chef was cooking and putting portions in the boxes that were for someone's pickup order that had called in, but he put much larger portions in those boxes than on the plates of the guests he was cooking in front of. The sushi was pretty mediocre. They don't have much of a selection either. TOTAL waste of $65. Will not be returning.

My wife and I were craving some sushi on a Sunday night and Osaka was the only thing we could find open. Bad idea....the sushi was obviously pre-prepared (it wasn't prepared fresh) and it tasted stale and mushy. Service was ok but nothing special. We should have ordered from the hibachi grill. The other people at our table ordered from the grill and it looked good.

This place is a mess. The food is mediocre and that what it has going for it. I am concerned with the level of sanitation. Everything seemed to have a layer of film on it including the surfaces you eat from. Customer service is piss poor. I don't usually take time to write reviews but this place needs to be avoided

The absolute worst sushi experience we've ever had. The fish was mushy (bad sign). The sushi rolls were about the diameter of a quarter. We had to endure sitting at a very hot and uncomfortable grill/table. When in Winter Haven, FL, this is NOT the place to go for sushi. This place started as a steak house and sushi was added later. They should have stuck with what they know. We'll never go back. The worst part was that it was to celebrate our anniversary. From now on, its Tsunami Sushi for us.
